The fruiting cycle in the olive, the differentiation and growth of the flowers, the fruiting and the ripening lasts one year (Sfakiotakis, 1993). The formation of flower arrangements in the olive tree takes place during the period from the end of January to the beginning of June. The critical period for anthogenesis is January and February. During this period the physiological changes that make the meristem floral take place.
A very important application that can provide adequacy in essential nutrients and mobilize the olive tree to later form more complete flowers is the spray with Maxi-Grow 0.5 kgr, Fosfacel 2 kgr and Barrier 2 kgr / ton.
Flower formation - Inflation of flowers
At this stage, the adequacy of boron and zinc is very important to produce high quality pollen with good germination capacity (even in periods of high temperature and humidity), so spraying with Tropicel 1 kgr and Barrier 2 kgr / ton is important.
Flint - Beginning of flowering
Full flowering takes place in the southern regions of the country in April and in the colder regions in May depending on local climatic conditions and the variety of the olive.
Then spray with Maxi-Grow 0.5 kgr and Barrier 2 kgr / ton is recommended which significantly increases fruit set, reduces competition between the flowers and ultimately leads to the production of the maximum number of fruits per flower.
End of flowering
The knowledge of the period of differentiation and formation of the flower arrangements in the olive is critical and coincides with the beginning of the formation of the new vegetation (Sfakiotakis, 1993). In olive groves that are not irrigated and not supplied with sufficient nutrients, there is a tendency for parenyuthoria. To strengthen the cell division and regulate the necessary vegetation that will give next year's production, it is recommended to spray at the end of flowering with Tricel 2 kgr and Maxi-Grow 0.5 kgr / ton.
